Fishcare is a Victorian community-based program in which volunteers are trained to educate the community, including school groups, about the rules and ethics of fishing sustainably. Fishcare Volunteers foster stewardship and personal responsibility by recreational fishers to fish resources and the aquatic environment. Size and catch limits and education about responsible fishing help protect our aquatic environment. Fishing provides a useful context for discussing sustainability
